Redefining the Face of STEM

The VEX Robotics Girl Powered initiative helps girls see themselves as leaders, builders, coders, pilots, and problem-solvers in STEM. Through hands-on experiences with robotics and drones, Girl Powered creates welcoming opportunities for students to build confidence, collaborate, and explore what they can create.

Why Girl Powered?

Girl Powered is about redefining who students picture when they think of STEM. Too often, girls and other students from underrepresented communities do not see themselves reflected in fields like robotics, engineering, coding, or aviation.

Through workshops, Girl Powered centers girls’ experiences while inviting students, families, mentors, educators, and teams to help build more welcoming STEM communities. These workshops help students try something new in a space designed for encouragement, curiosity, and belonging. By creating more opportunities to explore robotics and drones, Girl Powered helps students build confidence, discover new interests, and imagine themselves contributing to the future of STEM.

Representation Matters

Students are more likely to imagine themselves in STEM when they see role models, peers, and people like them building, coding, leading, and solving real-world problems.

Experience Builds Confidence

A short, hands-on workshop can be the moment when a student discovers a new interest, builds confidence, or decides that STEM is for them.

Belonging Changes the Future

When more students feel welcome in STEM, communities become stronger, ideas become more diverse, and the future of innovation becomes more inclusive.

Girl Powered Workshops

Girl Powered workshops help students take their first step into STEM through robotics and drones. Each workshop is designed to be welcoming and hands-on, giving students a chance to try something new and see what is possible.
